Stonehouse – A Rockin Night out with this Classic Rock & Blues Band

Originally a five piece Stonehouse, lead by drummer Chris Forster , parted company with their original vocalist and bass player and recruited Jules Godley on bass guitar (guitarist with Brass Routes soul band and ex U.S. Mail bassist) together with former Brassneck frontman Mick Grogan as lead singer. Guitarists came and went but the final slimmed down four piece line up is now complete with the addition of ex Archdentons axe man Sean Dewhurst who has recently returned to the U.K after spending much of the last 20 years playing in the clubs and ballrooms of South Africa.

Musically the band have a varied selection of material from blues rock to classic rock with a bit of glam and even a little new wave thrown in. Sean loves his Hendrix and Cream era Clapton so there’s a fair amount of the set dedicated to showcasing his prowess and showmanship with the lead guitar! Mick’s probably at his best when he’s able to mix his rock vocals with just a little bit of soul – ‘Hard To Handle’ and ‘We Got To Get Out Of This Place’ being prime examples. Put these two together with the powerhouse rhythm section that is Chis and Jules and you’ll understand why audiences love to come back again and again to watch Stonehouse in action!
